You know the old saw about a picture being worth a thousand words. However, what happens if you need a few extra words to explain the significance of those "thousand words"?
Consider, for example, a picture of you arm-in-arm with someone of the opposite sex. Is it your ex, your child, a BFF? A picture of you with someone else tells a lot. Most important, it tells a prospective date that people enjoy being around you. That's good, right?
However, to make the best impression, your arm-in-arm photo probably needs a little explanation. That's why
“our photo system includes an easy way for you to add photo captions”
our photo system includes an easy way for you to add photo captions -- up to about 50 words -- that tell people about what you're doing or showing in the picture.
In addition to your primary photo -- the one that shows you and you alone -- you should use photos to add flavor and spice; stuff that a written profile can't adequately explain. You can write that you like to climb mountains, tame tigers, run marathons, or sculpt heroic figures. It's so much more exciting if you can show you doing those things.
Having captions with the photos also helps other people find you in their searches. In addition to mining written profiles for key words, our search system also reads captions. As you write your captions, use words that others might be using -- Bahamas, bulldog, bicycle, backpack, balloon, bronco, etc. -- to find like-minded people.
A few other things you need to know:
 1. Our customer care team reviews all photos and captions (just as they review your profile description) so make sure what you submit is G-rated.
 2. You can use pictures in any of a variety of digital photo formats (".jpg," ".jpeg," ".png," "tiff," ".bmp," and ".gif.")
 3. You can submit up to 10 photos including your primary photo.

All too often I've seen cropped pictures of a good-looking woman with a man next to her in the photo. Even though the photo is cropped, you can tell a man is right next to her. My first thought is "if she already has a guy, what is she doing here?" Without some kind of explanation as to who he is (relative or whatever) I will automatically go on to the next person. If there is someone else of the opposite sex in the photo, please include some kind of explanation as to who he is; otherwise, people like me will be scared off. Also, if there are other women in the picture, be sure and specify which one is you! We don't automatically know! It's best to have photos of just yourself. If you have pets, it's best to be in the pictures with them also. Thanks!

A picture makes all the difference in the world. And the more, the better. Proper spelling and punctuation are very important to me, as it tells a lot about the writer. Also, the way the info is presented.

I questioned myself about the picture option. Just to let ya'll know, I don't want to be judged on my looks. and with stating that, I also want yall to know that the picture isn't the important thing I'm looking for. Words are the only way that you have to get a glimpse of the person inside. Besides that , I think it adds a little mystery, something to intrigue myself and others. So for those guys who don't use a picture, you are a little more interesting to me.And by the way this silouette doesn't look anything like me and I assume the silouette of others don't either.
